PADDLES:

This is a very subjective topic among canoeists.  There is a lot of controversary about what design, what material, what length, straight or bent.  What type of finish and the list goes on.

We are sure under certain conditions that each design / style has its place.  However we don't make but a few proven designs.  The length of a paddle is also a heated debate.  But the only answer comes from actually using it in a particular boat.  It will be different if you are paddling bow or stern (slightly longer for stern position).  A general guideline (although not absolute), is the distance from the floor as you are standing,  to between your chin and eyes.  Also if you are paddeling a solo boat you may desire a bit longer paddle or even a double style paddle, similar to what kayakers use.

Our most popular design is the wooden Beaver Tail of laminated Cedar and Pine with a durable epoxy coating and a Polyurethane finish.  This has proven to be the best desing for use and durability throught many years and thousands of wilderness miles.
